Doc puppy head study

Sunday 24th March 2012

We made the long drive to Crawford John in Scotland for the English Springer Spaniel Club of Scotland championship show:
The judge was Breed Specialist - Mr Alex Geddes.
Our TRYHARD FOOL'S GOLD ended his junior days in style by being 1st and TRYHARD REAL MCCOY qualifying for Crufts 2013 with a 2nd in Junior Bitch.
Another great day for us and especially Ken and Wendy Willey as their SPEETON SEA CHALLENGER (Tryhard Brandshatch x Calvdale Ask No Questions) was 1st in Post Graduate Dog and then took the Reserve CC.

Friday 9th March 2012 - GUNDOG DAY AT CRUFTS

We had a fabulous day, with the following results:
Breed Specialist Mrs Kay Woodward assessing the breed classes:
Our TRYHARD FOOL'S GOLD was 1st in Junior Dog.
Alex and Ann Geddes TRYHARD PRIVATEER AT DEBANZA was 2nd with our TRYHARD PIONEER 3rd in Yearling Dog.

We thought we would have some fun this year and entered the Working English Springer Spaniel classes for Dogs and Bitches, listed under the title of Gamekeeper Classes.
Oh yes this was fun alright..............the breed was being judged in Hall 2 and the Gamekeeper classes in Hall 5 ALL starting at 9am. Anyone who knows the layout of the NEC will appreciate how much of a pain this is!! We thought that we would be able to complete the gamekeeper classes before the breed classes had reached junior dog, but we would have handlers in place should there be a clash! But when we checked the gamekeeper class schedule on the day they showed that the working ESS dog class would be judged at 10am and the working ESS bitch class at 10:15am.
Somehow we managed to show both Thomas and Murphy in the breed classes and RUN from hall 2 to hall 5 as the working ESS dog class was just starting. Many thanks to Di Conrad for helping us achieve this mean feat.
Our TRYHARD PANNING FOR GOLD was 4th in the dog class, and
Our TRYHARD REAL MCCOY was 4th in the bitch class.

What a great day - all our dogs comming home with a card - a first for us!! Thank you to all concerned.

Sunday 4th March 2012
Today we headed off to the Midland English Springer Spaniel Open Show where our judge was Mrs Daisy Toublic of the Cobhay English Springers. TRYHARD OPAL started the proceedings in the Veteran Class being placed 2nd to the eventual Best Bitch and Best in Show. TRYHARD FOOL'S GOLD was 2nd in Junior Dog, TRYHARD PRIVATEER AT DEBANZA was 2nd in Yearling Dog, TRYHARD TEMPEST AT FREEWAY was 2nd in Limit Dog and then finally TRYHARD REAL MCCOY was 1st in Junior Bitch.

Sunday 6th November we took a short trip to Doncaster to The Midland English Springer Spaniel Society Championship Show.
TRYHARD PANNING FOR GOLD was attempting to qualify for crufts at his 1st ever show, to enable him to do the Show gundog working certificate in the future. What a fabulous surprise when Judge Angela Pidcock (Ketsby) awarded him 1st Place in Junior.
Now the serious training can commence!!

Sunday 25th September we took a short ride to Snaith near Selby where we had entered Pollard open show under judge Lucy Addoo. TRYHARD FOOLS GOLD was first up in Junior which he won and was declared Best Puppy in Breed. TRYHARD THE BLACK GLADIATOR was 2nd in Open. TRYHARD FOOLS GOLD was 2nd in the Puppy Group under Judge Mr George Clarke (Reulamill)

Sunday 18th September saw us taking a trip to Darlington Championship Show held at Newby Hall near Ripon. Not a long drive for us, taking under an hour to get there.
We enjoyed a fantastic day as our home bred TRYHARD FOOLS GOLD took BEST PUPPY DOG and then BEST PUPPY IN BREED.  Thank you to judge Mr Colin Woodward for a fabulous day.
