Tryhard Yorkshire Gold gained his Show Gundog Working Certificate in 2002 at the tender age of 11 months. This was the first year that the water test was added to the criteria. After working the ground for some time and taking the hunt into another field he flushed, waited for shot and retrieved a woodcock. Later he successfully retrieved a dummy from water.
At this particular test he was voted Guns Choice which we are extremely proud of.

The 2002 Midland Springer Spaniel Society Field Day was a bumper do for the Tryhard Kennel taking Novice Dog test and Best Novice with Alanea Mercedes.

Alanea Mercedes gained his Show Gundog Working Certificate in 2003 at the age of 2 years. From the working line it wasn't long before he flushed a rabbit, which managed to evade being shot. Having accomplished the first stage he was asked to take a back seat until a suitable retrieve became available. It wasn't long before there was a failed retrieve of a large cock pheasant which we were asked to come forward and retrieve. He took some persuasion but I did eventually get it in my hand. It didn't stop him showing off his swagger as he fetched it back to me. Later in the day he took to the water.............took the dummy into his mouth and proceeded to swim round and round the pond before bringing the retrieve to hand. He was very proud of himself.

Our next working prospects in training are brother and sister - TRYHARD PANNING FOR GOLD and TRYHARD REAL McCOY. Both are getting to grips with obedience, retrieving, hunting and swimming..........trained by our own fair hands, so watch this space!
